Zero Waste--Getting burned

So, I wanted to share a great Zero Waste tip: don't get burned. Or anything that requires the use of keeping things sanitary. We have to change my burn dressings 1-2 times a day and since everything that touches it needs to be sanitary, that means everything is prepackaged. Bandages, gauze, wrap. Very wasteful. We have a tiny garbage that we normally fill up every couple of weeks and one bandage change fills it up. So that's my midweek tip for you.

Most people have been pretty curious as to what this burn looks like. Since we have to take pictures to make sure it's healing from day to day, I thought I'd share a less gross one. I'm not into shocking you guys with blisters and puss, so I'm keeping my shoulder under wraps. I have a picture on my iPhone if you're morbidly curious. Anyhow, here's my arm:

It just looks bruised, really. And not too painful, just itchy with all the bandages. But hopefully I'll be healing up soon and ready to enjoy this freaking lovely weather!! I'm good at being lazy when I have stuff to do, but not when I'm forced into it. But, really, aren't we all?? Once I get better, I will kick this summer's ass. In a good way.

Here's a couple instagrams from lately:
Cheap little bouquet from things growing in our garden.

Roscoe cuddling up my mom. Man, what a cute puppy. We've been calling
him Weirdo just because we think it's funny he responds.
I just started my HuluPlus free trial, so I'm going to finish Friday Night Lights! Woohooo. Don't tell me what happens. I've been plugging my ears all year.

Kate, this blog sucks because it sort of makes me feel like I am still in contact with you even though I am not really. I am sorry about your burn! I have always been scared of pressure cookers...this does not help! I would love to talk to you before we leave!
